How to shutdown and restart Windows Explorer?

Here is the clean way to shutdown Windows explorer rather than by killing the explorer.exe process in TaskManager >Processes > Select explorer.exe> End Process
Shutdown Windows Explorer
Windows XP and Windows Vista- If you are using classic Start Menu
1. Click Start
2. Click Shut Down. This will show the Shutdown dialog box.
3. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and simultaneously click Cancel on the Shutdown dialog box.
4. This will neatly Shutdown Windows Explorer.
If you are using Vista with Vista Start Menu
1.Click Start
2. Press CTRL+SHIFT and simultaneously right click on the White Space in the start Menu
3. You will see a small context menu with Properties & Exit Explorer. Click on Exit Explorer to cleanly shutdown Windows Explorer.
To Start or Restart Windows Explorer
Windows Vista and Windows XP
- Start Task Manager or key board shortcut is CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
- Go to File
- Then New Task
4.Enter in the Create New Task window explorer and press OK.
5.You will get all open applications now in the Task bar with the Task Bar too re appearing with Windows Explorer running.
